Criminogenic Resistance Theory

Criminogenic resistance theory (C.RT) is an alternative conceptualization of the process by which Black boys resist the criminogenic influences of structuralized violence. As an integrative framework, it encompasses several propositions that are also presented in institutional strain theory (IAT), left realism, and critical race theory.

Reentry Revisited

Dr. Green presents the exceptional cases of Black men that have superseded all expectations post-release and the commonalities they share as well as the potential for these narratives to become expected outcomes.

Criminal Justice Reform

The degree to which the criminal justice system methodically participates in the mechanism of structuralized violence is well-documented within this study and, more importantly, through the cannon of criminological literature. Dr. Green posits that a commitment to the elimination of the structural racism that facilities the continual disruption and destruction of the lives of Black men in America remains a vital component of the path toward an equitable and just society.
